Nikki Face Plants; Team Loses 8-6

Ouch!! Not more than 30 seconds into Nikki & Jahna's church basketball game on Thursday, Nikki stumbles and does a face plant into the hardwood. After a few tense moments, it was determined that the worst of her injury was a nose bleed. Her teeth were not loosened and the skin will grow back on her elbow where she skidded across the court. After Nikki was escorted to the restroom and the blood wipped off the court, the game resumed with either a flurry of defense or poor shooting, we're not sure. But with four minutes left to play our girls were holding on to a 6-4 lead. The other team scored to tie the game. With less than two minutes left Jahna's 15 foot jump shot for the lead rimmed out. The other team scored again to take the lead for the first time in the game. Jahna would get one more good shot for the tie this time, but, alas, it did not go in either. Nikki did not return to the game and is considering her options as to any future basketball career.
